I have the most amazing news.

A while back, I announced I’d been working as a prevention coach for Sana at Stowe, a medical detox and recovery center in Stowe, Vermont. I also mentioned that I’d asked Sana to dedicate every bit of my salary to a scholarship fund for young people who are ready for recovery and might be able to afford Sana’s world-class care and support.

I named the scholarship after of the best people I’ve ever known, Mary Moore Parham, my friend and law school classmate who died over 22 years ago. Here’s a video about her, if you could use some inspiration. Mary Moore did not experience substance use disorder herself, but she dedicated her life and work to people who need crisis intervention and mental health support and I know she’d be so proud to be a part of helping young people achieve recovery.

When I talked about the scholarship on the Tim Ferriss Show, I mentioned I’d only just started working at Sana, and we did not yet have enough money in the coffers to fund a scholarship, but I hoped we’d get there soon.

And now we have.

I am honored and excited to announce Sana at Stowe is offering treatment for a young adult (18-25) with substance use disorder who is not experiencing active suicidal ideation or psychosis. Candidates need to be fully COVID vaccinated. If you or a young adult you know is ready to get help and find recovery, call 866-575-9958 and mention they are interested in the Mary Moore Parham Memorial Scholarship.
